From the Field: What Farmers Actually Need from AI

Transforming Agriculture with AI, The IAAI Monthly Dialogue Series

Our sixth webinar centers end-user representation. For five sessions, researchers and practitioners have talked about farmers. This session puts the questions to farmers and farmer representatives directly. Four farmers and farmer representatives from Africa and South Asia join us to share where their advice comes from today, who carries the cost when it is wrong, and what they actually want from the people building AI tools.

Speakers include:

  • Ify Umunna, Director of Agriculture, Dev-Afrique Development Advisors
  • Betty Kyalo, Farmer Representative Panelist (Kenya), UNDP AI Hub for Sustainable Development
  • Babafemi Oyewole, Farmer Representative Panelist (Rwanda), Pan-African Farmers Organization (PAFO)
  • South Asia panelists to be announced shortly

Moderated by Thule Lenneiye, Head of Technical Assistance and Adoption, IAAI.
